  • "As President-Elect of the Osteoarthritis Research Society International I am pleased to support the second edition of World Osteoarthritis Day Intergenerational Events (WODIES), which will take place in Brussels, Belgium from 14th-15th September 2019. OARSI is the premier international organization for scientists and health care professionals focused on the prevention and treatment of osteoarthritis through the promotion and presentation of research, education and the worldwide dissemination of new knowledge. The mission of OARSI is complementary to the aims and objectives of WODIES to raise awareness and showcase new ways to prevent and treat osteoarthritis. advances in treatments. I believe that patient and public participation is important for shaping the future of research and clinical development in osteoarthritis. By hearing the real-life stories of patients the researchers, clinicians and all  public and private organisations working on osteoarthritis will be able to understand the needs of the patients who are the key stakeholders and develop better and more appropriate diagnostics and treatments."
